Current .ltd.uk policy?

Hi.

I'm thinking of registering company in order to get a .ltd.uk, but the exact term was rejected by companies house as too similar to other companies.

Would nominet's current policies allow me to register in any of these formats and get the .ltd.uk?

XXX! Ltd
@XXX Ltd

I tried looking here but the threads are years old and were discussing policy recommendations, so I wanted to see if anyone knows the current state of play?

Looking at clause 10.3 of Nominet's rules, yes.

Nominet's position is irrelevant because Companies House won't let you. They closed that loophole a few years ago because of abuse. See section 6.

Thanks both.

But from the companies house rules it seems that '@' may still be allowed, as it's not in the list 'characters "*", "=", "#", "%" and "+" when used as one of the first three characters in a name;'.
