I have noticed that Dan.com now has a price request on domains so 2 questions.

1: Have you used this price request and what do you think,
2: Do you think it is better to have a price request or make an offer.

Thank

Paul

I haven't used price request but I personally think the make an offer option makes more sense.

It shows you where the buyer is (to start with anyway) so a low ball offer at the start would show what their thoughts (or dreams) are.
Then it gives the seller a better opportunity to show potential value if receiving numerous offer.

I'm primarily a buyer (to develop rather than flip) and I much prefer seeing a price. Often there's 20, 30 or more domains that would fit a project. Or sometimes we're just out having a nose around to see if anything grabs our attention - we're not going to bother contacting people for all of those domains unless it's one we really want.

We've also bought plenty on a whim from having a BIN price that seemed attractive that we would never have submitted an offer for.
