Did you vote in the June 4th election?

Nope, I've just turned 43 and I've never voted in my life yet, got no intention of ever doing so either, can't see the point, whoever runs the country it doesn't affect me either way.

I didn't know there were any elections on today, but I did hear a car with a loudspeaker going past my flat today, vote for the BNP blaring out from it, didn't realise it was for the local elections, thought they were warming up for the general election

Yup, I have voted in every election since being 18, I see it as my civil duty to do so.

How can I question what goes on in UK politics if I do not use my vote?

I did, went down to my local polling station... As others have said here, you simply cannot voice any opinion about UK politics if you don't.

Rich

I have never voted and never will. I also dont question UK politics either. I just get on with whatever I have too.

The country will never be run the way I want it to be, so why piss about with a X on a piece of paper?

Got to disagree on that, BNP won its first county council seat in Burnley West, Lancashire, by 201 votes so 201 x the above view = a difference :)

Rob did your vote for the BNP win them the seat.
we all know your right into politics :D

Everybody should vote and everybody has the right to choose the Political party that they see fit to run the country but at this moment its looking more dodgy than a " xxxxx xxxx xxxxxxx xxxxx xxxxxx "Oppps I have to be politically correct now. lets face it you vote for a person who is only intrested in themselfs. and no matter how bad some partys are they still have the right to go for the publics vote. and I think the main partys are in for a shock

Completely agree with you Lee, i say ca sara sara !!! ;)

Don't stereotype the BNP, because it's just hypocritical. :D

In all seriousness though they often do polling (independent groups) and give people a list of 10 policies from each of the parties. Although they never say which party it belongs too.

8 out of 10 agree with what the BNP say, then the polling chaps tell them it's the BNP manifesto and they still say they'd never vote for them.

So they'll never get into power but this argument where the mainstream can just go round calling them all nutters needs to change, or they will start getting in.
