Hi , i was using Woorank to check a few domains and i noticed that it showed some of my domain names as listed in Dmoz and in yahoo listings .

I believe this is ment to be a good thing for SEO and google adds weight to your sites relevance ?

I did a quick search on dmoz with my domain name but could not see it listed , i did just type in the full domain name with .co.uk at the end....

has woorank got this wrong ? i've found woorank in the past to be very good and accurate with its information provided.

Is it a added benefit ? showing as listed in Yahoo directorys and Dmoz , theres nothing on the site yet , as its a dropped domain name.

Dmoz should definitely add weight just as Squiddo will assuming a full lense.

If you can't find it on Dmoz then maybe delisted and could be for negative reasons which would go bad on the domain.

Thank you for the info , am I searching dmoz correctly by just searching dmoz via the domain name ? Could it of been delisted due to no site ? If so are they likely to put it back on if I put a site on there ? Is it worth contacting them explaining I have a domain name that shows as listed but I can't see the listing and how do I go about updating the info for the site on there site ?

It is very rare that a site gets a Dmoz listing unless you submit it yourself.
If you didn't submit the domain to Dmoz, I would assume woorank is making an error.

Good idea when permission has been given, but remember there could be copyright implications if it hasn't...

Getting into DMOZ these days seems to be pretty much impossible... Has anyone been successful lately? I know they changed their software for adding new sites about 6 months ago, which slowed things down a bit.

I took a look at submitting sites to Dmoz recently, and it looks like there is one way in - if you have a local connection for something. I am seriously thinking about hosting a few pages for my next door neighbour's youth football team ...

It is difficult to fit a lot of sites into their category system. I'm sure it could be done, if someone could develop an angle for making the subject matter fit a category.
