Do you use up all your credit in life?

I read this from another blog that also read it on another blog so can't credit the actual owner, but would like to share it and hope it changes they way you use your day.

• Imagine for a minute that your bank credits your account each morning with £86,400.
• It doesn’t carry over a balance however. Every evening your bank deletes whatever part of the balance you never used during the day.
  
• What would you do?
  
• I imagine you would try and spend as much as you could, possibly draw out every penny!
• Every one of us has a bank account like this, but it’s not money we’re dealing with - it’s something much more valuable, it’s time.
• Every morning, this ‘time bank account’ credits you with 86,400 seconds.
• Every night it writes off, completely, whatever of this amount you have failed to invest to good purpose.
• No balance is ever carried over, ever, and you’re allowed no overdraft.
• If you fail to use your day’s allowance, the loss is yours. There is no going back. There is no spending against the tomorrow.
• You must live in the present on today’s funds. Invest it, so as to get from it the utmost in health, happiness, and success!
• The clock is ticking. Make the most of today.

Why not £8.64 ? as a daily ratio comparison - this kind of mindplay tells you alot about the writer ( I accept thats not you golddigger).

I think the original writer was trying to impress on readers just how precious time really is. Quoting from something I read a while back along the same lines (paraphrased because I can't remember exactly where or who wrote it) "Many millionnaires would give every penny they owned at the exact moment of their death if they knew they could trade their riches for just one more day, one more hour, one more minute in this world."

I think the original figures were purely intended for simplicity (i.e. £1/second) rather than as a realistic ratio.

No it was ment to overly enhance a message - Which is back to basics as far as 'good domains' go.

So you'd happily buy into any misconception - As long as an underlying (exagerated) message was there - Glad I'm not on your sales agenda

I take each underlying message on it's own merit. To me, the actual monetary value stated in the original quote carries no significance.

Time is money, and too often people don't place a value on their time. I don't need a quote to understand that, but if it helps others that do, then it's not a bad thing.

In terms of message- Of course it actually did - hence the counter arguments to my £8.46. It's very easy to think of (or in) an exagerated message set.

My intent is to teach domainers how to still call a spade-a-spade (with enhancement) and hopefully win - And of course where not talking the generics but why certain descripives work as a "stand-alone-domain" and others don't.

I think you're confusing my comments with that of others. I can't comment for others, only myself, hence the "I" and "to me" (my opinions) which were wrote before my comments.

No problem - but it does help if you connect to a buyers proposition.

Fair comment, but I'm not reading this thread in the context of sales or connecting to the opinion of others, only my own. If it was the former then I would be the opposite, and viewing it from the point of others like you say.
