I'm after a bit of feedback because I've designed a site similar to flippa.

A few questions if anyone willing to answer them... :)

1.) Would you list your domain for free if i set the submission for free for the first month?

2.) Afterwords i'm putting a price tag of £1.00 for every domain submitted and advertised. Would you pay this?

3.) Should i keep the site for free for longer than a month? if yes how much longer?

4.) How many domains would you list at first?

The site will be launched after i've got my keywords/seo sorted. Without that no domains will sell unless the sellers are buyers too.

Sorry for any of my english or if this is just a pathetic way of getting feedback. But i will appreciate any feedback and answer any questions... 8)

Maybe

No

Forever

Depends how easy it is to.

The bottom line is that there are lots of sites out there (in the UK and elsewhere) which will list a site or make it available for auction.

These services are generally of a very low value because they do nothing to attract motivated buyers to each domain. Most of the visitors are domainers who want to pay domainer prices. Most of the domains remain unsold.

There is however potential for a domain auction process that targets end users in an industry and brings them into the auction. This is what the great auction houses like Christies do - they know the buyers for specialist items and get them lined up against each other - and they create value for sellers generally as a result of this marketing activity.

For domains, if someone puts together a much higher value added service then they should do well.

It's a contacts-led business so probably there is room for quite a few such services, all specialising in a few related industries.

Just my fourpence on this - what do other members think?
