I would guess the domain is not banned by google but when the googlebot visits the domain it is present with a page title and containing the text "This IP has been banned" rather than displaying the page which humans see.

cheers, so how do i remove this

i have deleted the name from namedrive and also requested google to remove the pages from the search engine. i have also changed the nameservers so i will have to wait now and see what happens.

THis has just lost me a sale :( so im not happy...

If you explain to them what has happened then there is no reason to loose a sale. All that has happened imo is that namedrive does not allow its pages to be indexed by Google (not surprising since the pages are just google ads) and rather than using the conventional method of using robots.txt they use their own script.

Martin

It's the IP not the domain that has been banned.

And it looks like previous listings were with Sedo, not Namedrive.

alot of names added to namedrive show the same

Well if it's just the IP, move the domain on to another set of nameservers. I wouldn't talk to google, a bunch of idiots who live in their own world. It's called America. Once on different nameservers, put a one page site up, link to it, then show the buyers the metas are recorded in google and other engines if not already. It should onlt take a few days for the change to be seen.

good idea, cheers i will do that.

thanks

It's got nothing to do with the nameservers... this an old cached page from namedrive... "when google spidered the site.. this is what it saw..." This IP has been banned

for whatever reason.. some IP filtering script from ND has decided that one of googles bots should be banned? ND may still have the logs if you need to verify!

your domain is fine on google.. still showing its pr rating and links etc.. if your nameservers were banned you would know about it...

you could get the indexed page deleted

i can confirm that domains considered to receive a high level of spam and/or are of an offensive nature may receive a ban from google.

This ban is universal and google will not serve ads to any banned domain regardless of parking provider.

Im sure Im not breaking the terms of our NDA by telling you this - and for clarification I was told this personally at a meeting at Mountain View just 2 days ago.

This feature has always been in place at google - its only now they are seriously stepping it up..
