domain name transfer

Have a question
i purchased a domain name from someone a few weeks ago - The guy who i bought it from is having troubles contacting his registrar, His e mailed them many times even called and left messages, But they don't seem to want to get back to him
What can we do?

im in the UK
And the company is in the US.

Who is the registrar? Can he not login to his control panel?

If he can do this or get hold of them all he needs to do is "push" the domain to you (if you open an account at the registrar).

Alterntively, if he unlocks the domain name he can provide you with the auth code so you can transfer it to any regstrar.

Okay all i know is what the seller has told me
the company is domainsnext.com
and the instructions for transfer. The facility which they said existed to allow transfer did not exist when he logs in, So he contacts them, Many times but no responce.
So he put in a official complaint with ICANN today
will this do any good? TIA
