How many domains can you point at one website and will it benefit from the same traffic and stats as the main name?

i dont suppose there is any point in copying the site and creating a new website for the domain name?

Why would google penalise for clones? When parking a domain is in fact cloning

Perhaps that may be the case, but by definition, it is a different URL

The problem is a straightforward one - Google don't want the their index filling up with duplicate content so they penalise attempts to spam the index.

If you have 10 domains pointing to the same site (and therefore same homepage), they all have the same content. It might work better if you pointed domains to different pages within the same site.
