Earlier this year, I stopped registering using freeparking and moved to 123-reg. That was fine until a week or two back, when a couple of domain simply weren't regeistered. I dunno what was going on, but it moved from the almost instant WHOIS update, to not doing it at all (even after 24/48 hours).

So I gave 1&1 another go, free .uk at the moment, bargain! BUT it takes ages to actually register. Like hours.

Who has a good price and QUICK registration? It's useless looking at droplists if the registrars are so damn slow.

I'm wondering whether registering with Nominet may actually be a better thing to do, with the added bonus of DAC access...

Spend a few pence more per registration and you should get a registrar that actually uses automated systems rather than someone sat in an office somewhere manually sending off reg. requests to Nominet :)

ukreg.com are pretty much instant.

cool, yes they are a lot quicker! Although... It is regisetring things as UK Individual, with my Ltd companyt in the "trading as" field. I enetred company name, company number etc. but it seems to ignore that and have no options on installation.

I guess I have to wait and edit using the Nominet systems?
