We've done a few Sedo transactions. So here's the advice - If the buyer pays Sedo the $30k and then accepts the transfer of the domain then you'll get paid :)

I always take a look at information on Buyer. If they have some yellow buying reputation and a Sedo joining date of before Dec 2010 then at least you know they've actually followed through with a purchase on Sedo in the past.

Congrats. Fingers, toes, the lot is crossed for you ;)

well looks like another false bid on sedo. i will be requesting the bidders details on monday but all sedo said is they will close his account down. maybe sedo should start taking deposits of bidders then if sales dont go through split the deposit paid (just an idea). but it is getting quite common now ive heard for people doing this through sedo to get domains details.

Request the details and post them up on here.

eg. http://www.acorndomains.co.uk/sedo/24994-sedo-dodgy-selling-venue.html as it gets into google. Btw that thread is from 2007 - sort it out Sedo?

i think it has truly shown now that there is no point in accepting bids for your domains on sedo because you are not guaranteed a sale.

sorry to hear about this Paul - what a wind up - let's hope he gets a lifetime ban on Sedo for buying, selling and parking domains.

To bad. I've had private buyers agree to a price and never to hear from them again, so its not a problem confined to Sedo's platform. Their are tyre kickers everywhere.

I've never had a bad deal on Sedo but now having read your experience I'll certainly be more cautious, thanks for sharing.

my advice is if anyone has had any bids on domains, before accepting any offers get sedo to phone them to make sure they are genuine buyers.

Paul sorry to hear of your problems

Sedo is never going to phone every person that places an opening bid and will never take any action against these that don't complete...

yeah a shame really..never mind what i never had i wont miss :)....

god luck,big sales....

not really, the sale didnt go through also been chasing sedo for the details of the fake bidder and still havent got them :(

But if you list a domain at fixed price and someone clicks buy but you have already sold the domain elsewhere then Sedo still charge you for the 10%

So if a sale falls through on their part they don't care but if it falls through on your part you still have to pay
