Hi, if anyone could take a minute to explain how this service actually works on DomainLore. Kindly [as you no doubt will], presume you are trying to explain this to someone who is a bit thick.

Also any comments from anyone who's had any luck with it would also be welcome.

Just spotted something on that page of interest but no idea what I'm doing. Ta in advance.

If a domain is due to drop you can place an advanced bid.

If the domain drops the new owner can decide if they want to put it up for auction

Bensd. Thanks for the response. Just for clarity.

A

The higher the pre bid might help the chances of the domain getting added to domainlore auction (although a very high amount end up there with bids under £100).

I have added a few pre bids (most being £300.00) and the domains have ended up on domainlore and i got them :D (really happy with the price and a couple of the domains were ones I really wanted).

Kind regards,

John.

Advanced bidding is flawed in that it alerts other catchers to what might be desirable (even the sites owner catches for himself). Their are no guarantees it will go to auction. I would avoid if you want stealth.

I don’t have much experience in the domain world but in my experience if the domain is on domainlore droplist (I think the op stated it was a domain on domainlore drop list) it will be spotted by all and depending how good a domain it will be alerted there and on other lists anyway.

I have kicked myself a few times for not adding more pre bids on domainlore when I missed domains that have dropped... as an example I really wanted http://tinyurl.com/abnrsrl

I added it with the hope of it going to auction there and domainlore system caught the domain and added it to auction and I got for a price I was happy with.

It’s worked for me really well...
