I appreciate that. I paid a grand for the name, do you think that was a fair price. DMOZ listed, hundreds of backlinks - one in fact from the independent newspaper!!

You have made a fantastic investment at that price. This domain is in a very popular subject, plus it's highly brandable, with the alliteration really helping.

Again thanks for the feedback. I am getting traffic but the main problem is getting people to become members and if they do retaining them! It's not as easy as i thought it would be put it that way!

If you are looking for sign-ups to a forum or e-mail list, then how about incentivising it in some way, e.g. sign-up and get free competition entry.

I would also take a look at conversion rate optimisation techniques to see if you can improve the "flow" of forum signup.

Finally, you could pack more into the top of the page to add interest. For example, a latest news / latest forum posts ticker. This makes the site seem more alive. I know you have a latest forum posts on the home page but it's not seen initially.
