Using these for a plural of a word, eg hous.es (not mine), do they have much resale value? Say with 50k global exacts for a one word generic. I assume local exacts aren't relavent?

Google does not consider .es as continuation of the word. Therefore your keyword for it is 'hous'. Could only work as a vanity name in some cases

Yes I see search metrics aren't really relavent to these kinds of domains. What about vanity value then?

edit: As an example, bagpip.es is available to reg

Vanity market is unpredictable, .es is not amongst well known TLDs and it is almost impossible to give a "vanity value". E.g. for me it is = reg fee, sorry.

.es domains have no resale value for the simple reason that the Spanish people are the very tightest in the entire world. I live in Spain and can tell you that the average Spaniard would rather do a 100 mile diversion than pay a 2 Euro road toll. No Spanish businessman would pay more than twenty euros for a .es domain, no matter how good or whatever benefits it might bring to his business. Not that the average Spanish businessman even wants more business. They spend 90% of their "working" day sleeping during the legendary "Siesta"!
