Would you think a .FM or even a .AM domain name would be worthy of a registration for investment or turning into a mini site.

I know the problem would be that direct traffic by typing into the address bar is pretty much non existent. I just wondered since "hello.mobi" went for $20,000 according to Sedo and I wouldn't have thought a .mobi domain would get direct traffic either.

I suppose .FM and .AM are more of a niche market (more so than .mobi) so it narrows the audience. I just wanted to get others perspective on the situation.

I've wondered that as well, I was thinking about buying one to see how it goes but I dunno. I was gonna get a .ag as well.

The point is though, if all goes to plan .mobi will be what you are typing into your mobile phones browser. It will be the norm.

When will people really be typing in .fm or .am?

I posted this in another thread a while ago but...
Mobile phones are becoming more advanced and can view web pages as web pages would be seen on a laptop. So a separate .mobi is a dead end i think.

The N95 etc..and all MDA's see sites like they should be.

That's my point too. Why need a seperate .mobi extension for sites that can be seen as they are. All you would need is some simple CSS telling the site what to display if the viewer is using a mobile phone.

Bish Bosh.

So coming back to my original query, would a decent generic .FM domain be worthy of an investment for possible resale or use for click through revenue or not?
