Has anyone tried to get newsletter sign-ups through their FSB sites.
I've noticed a newsletter sign-up form in most of the templates, but don't see anything in the back-end to support this.

Just wandered the different ways people are using to set this up?

There is a partly done Newsletter system in FSB but I think it is better to integrate with a third party such as Mailchimp.

We are working on this for the next version, but you should be able to easily paste code from Mailchimp (or other newsletter manager) to capture emails.

Doing a newsletter via your website/server can be problematic with spam compliance, deliverability etc. - it makes much more sense to use a third party (which can be free up to a small number of users).

With a full integration we can still do things like send customers an email automatically when a product price changes 8)

Thanks for the reply Carey.

I thought I was maybe missing something in setting this up.

So what happens now when these forms are submitted?
Nothing?... Or are the addresses sent somewhere else?
I ask because I see several other people using them on their sites.

Looking forward to the updates.
I've read your plans & its good to see loads of new development going on at FSB.
Some great ideas/improvements in there.

Thanks
Mike

The emails go into a database table called "newsletterusers" (off the top of my head). So you can easily export these via phpMyAdmin and import them to somewhere like Mailchimp to send emails out.

That is probably what some users are doing.

Thanks for the feedback - I can't wait to get these new features out :)
