As ole said along tim ago'As much as I would like to agree with you I can't.
From what I have seen on here there is nothing to suggest that Michael thought Lee was a member, nor is there anything to suggest he wasn't. Either way it seems odd that someone in michaels position and reported academic background would assume anything.
So, let me see if I've got this straight... it's okay for Lee Grandin to "assume" but not okay for anyone else? If anyone else does it's a crime against humanity and punishable by constant forum stalking, but if Lee Grandin does it, it's just his "opinion"? Apparently no-one else is allowed to have a different one; or have I misunderstood your vague terminology again?
For the sake of clarity here is what you said immediately after Mike Penman stated he would be withdrawing from the forum.

You may say Personal capacity now but things were different earlier in the year.....My print out (i think) shows that you note Nominet in your profile. As such you could be misleading people to believe you are acting on behalf Nominet when posting when in actual fact you weren't...I have never seen a disclosure.
In my humble layman opinion, there is very little purpose in adding a 'disclosure' or privacy statement at the bottom of public forum messages; public means what it says on the tin. That said, Mike Penman did state (I'm almost sure it was more than once) that he did not speak for Nominet. Similarly, I do not speak for Nominet or Lee Grandin or Mickey Mouse. I speak for myself, particularly if I am speaking (writing) on a public forum. If you insist on grossly unfair expectations of other people then pretty soon no-one from anywhere will speak to you at all.
Either way Trading Standards will be able to clarify the unfairness of your actions. Suggest you contact the PAB member who represents the DTI he will be able to tell you what has or hasnt been done correctly...I am no expert so I'm afraid my assertions are always just opinions.
Well
you wrote it, so please tell us, did Trading Standards clarify any "unfairness" or did they end up not speaking to you too? And if they didn't clarify any unfairness, do you now accept you may have been wrong in your assertions of "unfairness"?
I also find it odd that Michael appears to have posted on acorn within the last 24-48 hours and not posted in this thread when it is / was to do with legal issues.
It may well be that Michael came onto Acorn to add the "Ex" to his status with Nominet. He was always professional in his dealings with me and I can only judge by how a person interacts with me. I still hold him in high regard. I know no more than you or anyone else but I believe he is indeed no longer with Nominet. So leave the man alone!
People can make their own judgement by that.
And I trust they will.
