Sorry accelerator, this is just guff.

He's a marketer who makes his money selling books and courses on how to be successful, a la Grant Shapps.

It's get rich quick crap dressed up in a nice suit.

So, did you watch the whole talk?

So, did you watch it all?

I skimmed it, don't have time to waste on his kind! I know this individual from previous ventures and he fits perfectly within the "sell a book on how to get rich selling a book" category. Full of bullsh*t bingo with powerpoint presentations. Sadly these people do well from the naive!

Personally I think this talk is full of insights, so I'm surprised at the dismissive responses.

I've listened to the first 33 minutes so far

He has raised some interesting points, stuff I hadn't really ever thought about

Don't know if I'm going to find anything practical in any of this, but yep interesting enough to listen to in the background while I do other things.

Nothing wrong with that, we all define inspiration in different ways and ultimately whatever motivates us is worth listening to.

I just can't stand these kind of individuals, same keyword stuffed approach about aiming for the stars but never offering any tangible data to work with. They always use to same analogies, the same approach, the same examples and hope you leave feeling all warm and fuzzy!

Let's see what they reply. I would like to know exactly how much of this talk they watched before pronouncing judgement on it.

I watched about 30 seconds, did some quick and dirty research on the guy, pronounced judgement and went back to actual business stuff.

You can watch 1000 inspirational talks if you like, but you only achieve success by getting on with it.

I am extremely wary of anyone who touts testimonials and anecdotes - give me concrete, quantifiable results and cite your sources and I'm interested

Whilst I agree that the quality of speakers can vary, I think this guy is good. I don't think it is fair to judge a talk having only listened to 30 seconds of it.

Quantifiable results are given later in the talk.

Each to their own, but personally I think some of these people are well worth listening to. I also agree that taking action is critical, but you can listen to these free YouTube videos whilst doing something else.

We'll have to agree to disagree.

I'd love to believe that he's done very well and just wants to see others succeed. Perhaps sometimes that's actually true but if it was his credentials would be obvious, rather than 'ran a multimillion pound marketing business' - for all we know it ran at a loss and we can't actually even check - marketers are not exactly known for their brutal honesty in sales materials :)

Anyone can pronounce themselves an expert, get some testimonials, write some articles and speak at a conference or two. From my very limited research this appears to be what he's done and what he's telling people to do.

I've seen people do it in more than one industry while I know for a fact that they are poor performers. SEO is notorious for it - the best SEOs really don't need to build a profile or earn money from speaking and writing about it.

Anyway, if you get something out of it good luck to you, I agree, each to their own.

Any limited company you can get a reasonable idea of what the people involved are up to and how they are doing , i believe the guy talking is involved with :

I personally carry out due diligence on any company that i work with that is of any significant amount of money to ensure they can pay the bill
