I've tried to drop in "Linux Distros" quite a lot, maybe you could tell me there is anything else I need to do?

There are some duplicate links which I need to fix.

Menu is way way way too spammy get rid of 'Linux Distros: ' from each of the menu options and you will be fine.

Internal pages don't have enough unique text either.

Linux Distros doesn't look that hard to rank for, get a few decent back links and you should be able to make the bottom of the first page in Google without too much problem. Would be very hard to rank for the word 'Linux' by itself though there's some stiff competition for that.

If you closely repeat a text that you are tying to rank for then Google can indeed deem you spammy. But don't worry, they focus mainly on links -- and that is how they determine if you are spamming or not.

From the look of your site, you are using a pretty decent template and WP rocks when it comes to ranking in search engines. Just focus on targeted links and you should be doing fine.

you only have 1 h1 tag on your main page , try putting some of your keywords in your h1 tag.

do you have 'no follow' set on wordpress to stop spammers?

it's looking good, just had a thought, how about adding to your site linux firewall disributions (ipcop,smoothwall,astaro,endian etc).

I've actually disbanded the linux site for a couple days because I got another site I am working which is camping guide .org.uk, I will update tonight or tomorrow.
