Hey everyone,

I'm from Kent and work in online marketing and web design.

I'm interested in finding out how buying domain names with existing links and pointing these domains at my client's websites can help with their search engine ranking. Also want to chat about owning domain names for myself and monetizing them.

Looking forward to chatting.

Hi jbullet, welcome to Acorn,

Buying domain names with links to them can help rank your clients websites. Now there is a lot more to it than that, but it does help from my experience.

Your best best is to buy domains in related topics to yours or your clients sites. Focus on the main keywords your clients businesses are targetting. Try and locate keyword domains if you can or buy them.

- An exact match keyword domain will help
- An aged domain can also help
- Where you host the domain
- What anchor text links you redirect or if you 301 the domain to the main client site
- A domain which already has links to it, check opensiteexplorer.org to give you an idea of the authority of the domain and the links to it.

Hope this helps
Gary

Hey jbullet,

I'm new to - funnily enough I've got a domain you might be interested in, jobs-in-kent.org.uk - 110,000 exact match local searches a month! The auction is over on Domain Lore.

I kind of bought a load of domains without learning about the industry first, so now I'm playing catchup. Got a number of domains, some are ok, most of them are unlikely to sell I guess - still, only cost me around £150, so not too bad :)

Welcome to AD, love your username, makes me think 'jbullet, Private Eye!'.
