Some recent purchases:

Hire.co.uk
Satellite.co.uk
Stolen.co.uk
WeddingPresents.co.uk

Quite excited about these, would be good to know what people think of them.

Also, does anyone have any affiliate sites for car hire, sky TV etc and if so what are the best programmes to join?

Paul

Exciting!

hire, weddingpresents most obviously excellent.

satellite - you mean sky! ov shows satellite navigation as the biggie.
stolen - those police auctions used to be very popular, not sure how you'd monetise it.

all of them nice buys!

Hi Paul,

got any price in mind for the hire?

if you are thinking of selling that is?

Cheers Boss

Stolen is the weakest for me... with Hire.co.uk and Satellite.co.uk being the best. Very very good names, I bet you paid a fair whack for them. Congrats!

I see this one as a simple Sky affiliate site £50 per subscriber will be nice :)

I plan to turn this into a site where you can upload details of your stolen goods, should be the type of site that attracts lots of visitors, visitors = money :)

Not for sale at the moment, I'm going to develop it into sub domains I think.

All nice names apart from stolen really thats probaly the weakest one.

Personally I prefer weddingpresents as its a more workable domain for earning money.

Would be easy to set up a website with the most common wedding presents and have that linked to stores.

Would be reasonably quick as well, kitchen > toasters > ovens etc

Hire is very nice but more of an end user name really I have a few hire sites and they dont get many sales from them.

hire films etc etc

Apart from movies theres not many hire firms that pay on networks or not that I have seen anyway.

Ah car rental so you could too a degree have a section for as many hire places or items that you can find.

Wedding Presents I personally would be more happy about if I had brought it, but thats me for sales rather than domains.

I agree stolen at first glance looks like the weakest, but I think long term it could prove to be the best if I develop it right, there are affiliate opportunities with it, plus a number of other ways you could make money from it. Well that's what I think anyway :)

The sub domains is a good idea. I have not seen another domain that lends itself so well to this concept, you can pretty much hire anything these days. However, I have yet to come across an established site using subdomains to anything like their full potential.

A while ago we sold scales co.uk to a forum member, this was a name which had some scope for subdomains. I wonder how much time and money you have to invest in such a project to generate a regular income. I was not encouraged by the apathy of several major distributors who enquired about scales .co.uk and made derisory offers.

well ill sell stolengoods.co.uk if your interested :)

Mmmmm just had a thought,

Your more than welcome to steal this from me if you want.

It would be a very hard project to get off the ground BUT....

You could do a public website that lists stolen goods or cars etc in the hope that they might recover it.

It probaly wont make much but might get some interest from an end user if it takes off.

If that doesnt work, close your eyes then I'll nick wedding presents from you and then you can put up a wanted dead or alive poster on stolen regarding your missing wedding presents ;)

Great names.

Try Argus Rentals for car hire. They do white label. Thier start commision is 5%. I put a few names to them last year and they offered 10% before I had signed up.

Email them first and tell them you are thinking of affiliating but what can they offer you that others can't. They are Irish and switched on. I'm sure you will hear from them pretty quick.

As I said before that's my plan for it :)

The man buys three cities across the world and the canary islands and then asks what do you think of these haha I'd be more interested to know what you paid for them. You've spent circa £30k, you know what you've got.

Cheers

I know they are all good but it doesn't make me any less nervous about spending the money. I just like to reassure myself I'm not mad :)

As to what I paid for them, I have no problem telling anyone but I have plans to use this to my advantage so I can't say on here at the moment. I will tell you how much I paid for weddingpresents.co.uk though £750 :D

£750 amazing aint it, more like £7500, I wish I had the money to go round snapping the cheapies up off the unsuspecting. I will one day soon, once I'm married and convince the other half it's a good idea she don't buy that new dress haha and can wait three month and buy five dresses instead ha.

They're good domains, all either instantly sellable or developed.

Cheers
