Hosting for forum website

Hey guys - apologies if this is the wrong section, I wasn't sure were to put it.

Just wondering if anyone could recommend a reliable/affordable web hosting package for a forum website?

What kind of traffic?

It will no doubt start off small for the first 6-12 months as it's going to be a new niche I'm targeting...after that maybe 10-15K visitors per month, but that would be a fair bit further down the line.

If so, host anywhere and cheap then grow if/when it grows. No point going for specific hosting at this point IMHO.

Great, thanks rob. Apologies for noob question, but I'm relatively new to web hosting so was unaware if there was anything I should look for/avoid. Thanks very much for the help anyway!

No worries - starting a forum up is one of the hardest things to do online so good luck with it - but in no way start forking out for specialised hosting. You will know when you need it

Great, thanks Sorry to be cheeky, but I notice you're a founding member, so would you have any advice for someone looking to get a forum off the ground? It's a subject I know, I'm passionate about and I already have a presence in a related niche, so I'm hoping these things will stand in my favor...other than that, it seems a key is patience, as it could well take a year to really get things going. Anything you could add?

Again, sorry to be a pain, this just seemed like a good opportunity to ask for some advice!

Either be prepared to post via lots of accounts, or get mates to post for you or hire a forum posting co.
