how can I get this .com... ?

There is a .com domain I am after expiring on June 1st – now I assume if the owner renews there is no way I can get it? What can I do to make sure I stand the best change of getting it?

If the owner renews your only real option is to buy it off them.

thanks - ive already made what I deem to be a reasonable offer based on traffic stats - unfortuantley the owner is basing his value on stats provided by one of the "price youre domain" sites which is just rubbish...

Yep but I guess of he knows how much you want it the price is going to go up anyways.
