You monitor the domains status x times per second, when it shows as available you try and register it before anyone else does?

Im not being rude but - you need to read as much as possible on this forum, especially the dropcatching section and also the nominet website. You then need to do what everyone else has done and work it out for yourself. By the sounds of it your are capable of creating the script yourself so you are 90% of the way there, the rest of the info is out there waiting for you.

...Cue the generous catcher who will now probably answer any question you ask :)

First step is probs to choose what language your going to code in and figure out the pro and cons.

Folks here use C, PHP, Basic, Perl, Ruby, a stopwatch and alot of luck ;)

ta for both the replies. It would help if I could please knows;
1. Is it an advantage or necessity to also be a member of
Nominet as well as TAG holder ,or can I work without paying
£500 ?.
2. What is limit on monitoring requests to whois ?

Thanks

The advantage of being a member is that registrations cost you £5 each rather the £80 each, so if you plan on catching a lot of domains membership is essential.

Here's the answer to question 2 on one of the pages I suggested that you read :)

If your serious then you need TAG and membership. Forget whois (1000 rolling 24hr I think.. dunno dont use it) you need DAC.
