I chased Staples up on my order, just had an email from them saying the order has been cancelled as they have no stock, bummers.

My order was a little earlier so maybe I'll get lucky not holding out much hope though did they charge you for it looks like they have debited my card

Yeah they charged for it and said a full refund will be issued.

Seems HP will issue an update about stock levels on Friday, but take that with a pinch of salt as they'd said they'd do it today then pushed the date forward.

Just got my sorry we are unable to proceeded with your order email sorry for the inconvenience.
Does the fact they actually took are money mean that they entered into a contract to supply said goods do we have any rights under consumer protection laws to demand they supply us with an alternative product of equivalent specifications.
I thought they were not meant to debit any money until they confirm they have goods to supply.

I managed to get a 32GB Touchpad & charging base from Argos and I must say it's a nice piece of kit, the screen is as good as an ipad2 and I really like the induction charging base. There's a thread at HotUKDeals that is over 1083 page long mostly from people unable to get one.

Personally I think HP are stupid for reducing it so much in price.

I posted an update about this on my blog. Basically, my 2 posts brought nearly 7,000 uniques and over 16,000 pageviews in the last 7 days. But in hindsight there were a TON of things I could have done "better"...
