Been thinking what others thoughts are on this topic.

If .com is valued at £10k, what's .net & .co.uk value? Can they be compared?

There doesn't seem to be a clear value or formula.
For example if the .com was owned and forwarded to a site or certainly not for sale or going to be developed any time soon I would expect that to push the value of a .net up a bit higher than normal.

One person may say .net worth 10% of .com someone else says 3-5% of the .com value.

.co.uk doesn't compare as they are their own market imo, UK domains seem to be gathering trust in the marketplace and value, I am sure quite a few companies that are only UK specific would prefer the .co.uk, also a few more investers with money are looking into the UK market which should help reseller prices.

I would say it is not a simple %age comparison.

I know a few non-UK types looking to invest and are trying to base things on a formula, which is quite amusing when you look at actual sales prices :)

Ok, but let's say that the .com is active and is generic such as laptopcases.com (Just came to my mind, lol) let's assume that it is active as a domain/site and let's assume that it's valued at £10k ($20k).

Irrespective of how the value of this .com domain achieves its valuation how would I determine a guesstimate value of :
laptopcases.co.uk
laptopcases.net

Better still what would you believe the .co.uk & .net to be worth?

Hope this makes sense. :)

(I also understand that there is no set valuation criteria and that each domain/case is to be judged on its own merit and this question is purely hypothetical but some advice would be greatly appreciated.)
