Just been on to my regular domain registrar...

They are now selling .info domains for 50p !!!

http://www.hostchilli.com

Plus you can pay using paypal.

(How are they making a profit?)

Who cares...
Its cheap as chips!

:D

godaddy are offering 99 cents at moment too. renewals will probably be $7.95 though
or if you join moniker & get the dnf pricing rate (not promoting dnf, just saying) you will get $1.95 rate for infos, same if transferring in & for renewals.
the best way imo or a false economy

Thanks for that...

By the way, has anyone experienced this...

I was searching for a domain the other day on Godaddy and found it was available for reg. nothing spectacular :) Anyway, did not register it. Few days later checked availability on it...it was taken, but would not list the registrant details. I just put it down to bad timing on my part. Anyway, checked it again few days after that but for the .net it was available AS WAS THE .com. What the hell is going on there???

How did it de-register? And why?

domain tasting. some registars allow you to reg, see if any traffic, if not, cancel & just pay the icann fee(25 cents). some for nothing at all.
some firms/registrars do it en masse all the time & scan the searches YOU make. so if you find a nice one, nail it then! cheers

that happend a lot with me lol

i had tons of the same thing happen during the .eu fiasco..

Godaddy really annoyed me during the sunrise period and i should nowbe the owner of some very nice names...

They absolutely ( pardon my chinese ) 吸吮 :D
