ive asked a previous question about software that i could use inhouse that would compare the insurance quotes from all the insurance companys i deal (lets say a 10) with to give the customer the best quote.

after drawing a blank on this i wondered if i could knock up a simple insurance comparison website but input only the rates of the insurance companys i use.

do u think its that easy? install a comparison website and input the data from an xml file? is that how insurance company send their affliates the data? XML ?

hopefully you understand what im trying to achive.

Which insurance product is this for? Surely it's going to be rather complex because each quote must be tailored to each customer, i.e. insurer's will run their risk assessment before providing a quote.

doesnt the risk assessment come from the answers to the questions in the quote?
ie. do you smoke (if yes, add 5%)

I don't actually know. However, my belief would be that each insurer would have different criteria for how they risk profile customers.

It can't imagine building insurance comparison software is that easy. Have you thought of researching some of the software companies that do it already? Some of them may even be quoted companies, as it's big business.

Surely the industry has software to do this? Albeit expensive?

well ive spent weeks looking :)
and i havnt found any yet that will allow me to add my own data from the different companys and give me the results from each company.
