Not at all, gutted he lost, although today Federer was superb.

Why are you glad?

i like a sportsman to look happy when he wins (you look at every match he has won he looks like as happy as a broken arsehole) . I also believe he wanted "anyone to win but england" in football.

Yeah I heard he said that, wasn't impressed...

There is a good reason Scottish people use that phrase. We get sick of all the tv and news coverage going on about England's football team any time they are in a cup, saying "we" this, "we" that forgetting that they are broadcasting to not just England, so it becomes very annoying for a non English resident when it's on every channel, every paper, radio station etc. And of course Scotland rarely get anywhere in football so it rubs it in!

So it's nothing to do with being anti English.

one of most boring games i've seen
hardly watch tennis these days tbh

compare this game to classics like becker and borg and mcenroe or even agassi played at wimbledon

both players lack a personality on or off court

what amazed me was how murray at 25 looked physically knackered and his body language said it all at 1 set all he would definitely lose

oh to have had a milion quid to have put on federer at 1/2 at that point

another thing which is sad is how the final is full of corporate flunkies and celebrity whores like the beckhams
if they let in the real fans who were stuck outside they could have had a real partisan atmosphere

also we really shouldn't say 'we' in the media. nothing against our scottish friends but he's scottish. credit to them
how can we claim credit for his success in england lol

all that said I would rather go for a pint with andy murray that that mong henman

Touché - I could not have put it better myself :)

also murray's girlfriend...............
wow, she is absolutely stunning. and I like the fact she is not letting it all hang out and plastered in makeup. very natural.
actually she was the highlight of the game

she made kate and pippa look like the ugly stepsisters lol

If i'm honest, I was a bit like look at her and look at andy... if he wasn't a sports personality then would she really choose to be with andy?

I was pretty sure most of her tears at the end were more becasue andy's fortunes didn't quite go the way she hoped for to have benefited her most. Or maybe i'm being too cynical?

I didn't think it was a great game either, but then i don't much like tennis anyway.

My parents met Andy plus girlfriend at a very small charity event a few weeks ago. From what they told me they were very nice people and really down to earth.

I actually think Andy is a real credit to Britain and it was great to see that he really cared. I don't think he's had an easy life - he witnessed the Dunblane Massacre at his school and he has constant knee problems due to an abnormal kneecap.

Stephen.

Didn't he also say once, and quickly retracted, that he's only doing this for Scotland and not 'Britain' or the fans standing out there (some camped in rain all night) to cheer him on.

....and yes the girlfriend - does remind me of the Peter Crouch and Abby Clancy pairing. Without fame and money, never in a million years.

I thought that too must admit but after looking into it they met when they were both 17 and her dad is a tennis coach and been together a longtime
looks genuine to me

henman with his grass court in back garden and every opportunity in life when growing up just annoys me and family harping on about how grandparents on both sides played at wimbledon etc
murray had a tough upbringing with parents splitting up and his dad bringing him up so has far more respect from me for where he's got with no money

Its great to see the quotes Andy Murray supposidly said - no evidence he said those at all but yet they stick when people say these things. I'd just remind people that Andy Murray is Scottish and he is also British, as I am. British doesn't mean English, and incidentally he had thousands of folk rooting for him down in England, which I thought was great.

I remember hearing about the story on the BBC news after a press conference (can't find the link now). Just seemed very harsh and a kick in the teeth for the people who had spent money, time and a long wait to cheer him on and support him (irregardless of his nationality).

Hey I don't care if he's Scottish, British or from Mars - never was a big fan of tennis. Personally I like Scotland, been many times and Inverness and surrounding lochs and ranges are a truly inspiring place.

Personally don't give much a damn about his nationality - just not a big fan of his for this reason
