Is the .uk domain a gamechanger for business?

There's still a lot of confusion. It's not really reached mainstream thinking. When it's fully available and people can't get the .uk they want because someone has 5years to sit on it, then the sh*t will get real.

Stacks of misinformation in there about the UK companies requirement. Not worth reading IMO as it will confuse rather than enlighten.

You could always point out where they've gone wrong, or go one better and write a guest post for them putting the record straight. They're usually very receptive to such requests/guest articles, in my experience.

By "people" you don't mean "businesses" since they're all protected by the 5 year rule.

No, read the sentence again. I'm meaning anyone looking to register a brand spanking new .uk domain and finding they can't have it cos the .co.uk owner has 5yr rights to it. Many will skim the small print on .uk registration rights and go straight to trying to register.

The only ones protected are the actual .co.uk owners or 'businesses' as you say.

There's bound to be an increase in enquiries, and an increase in the abusive responses!
