Is there a complete muppets guide to dropcatching?

As above really,

I have seen some people do well out of it and have read some articles on it etc but I have to admit I don't really know what the story is with this.

How do people know what is coming up? What services do people use? I assume not through a standard registrar?

What's this stuff about people trading drop dates?

Anyway if there is a simple guide for noobs like me a link to it would be much appreciated!

It's not something to come into rare-at.

easy to waste a fortune on "drop criteria" ie date of reg /exacts/search. All the Bollocks - that says "all the catchers after it" "3 million exacts "

Learn about domains as a market/asset/development - it's an evolving market. Once you start you'll either enjoy being involved or you won't - don't think for a moment you can spread yourself across the board

Like most things, If its comfortable you'll do it well - if it's a chore, it was never for you in the first place

Just don't do what I did.

Spend a couple of years buying what you think are really good names, then after wasting endless amounts of money you realise that you have bought a load of tat.

From the outside it does look like easy money, but when you make the effort to do the research and read the forums, as I didn't, you will see there are a select few clever peeps who certainly did the hard work and just make it look easy.
