I own JobBlog.co.uk and WebmasterBlog.co.uk.

I noticed Autoblog.co.uk sold for £12k on sedo. I would appreciate heads up value on the above 2 domains. Any tips on how to develop is also welcome, or who to sell to. I noticed Autoblog.co.uk now belongs to AOL lol!

Thanks
Robert.

I think autoblog.co.uk only got such a price because autoblog.com is such a big site owned by AOL and it was bought by the same people.

Re: JobBlog.co.uk

That's interesting!

I do think £12k is a reasonable price for AutoBlog.co.uk. Afterall, the site should appeal to anyone interested in Auto related editorials etc. If presented correctly, it could sell advertising space and monetize other aspects of auto related products and services. Blogs are better suited to media companies who can deploy journalism reporting and editorials, tips etc.

In the current environment, finding Jobs is a huge subject matter. Therefore I would have thought could suit a large newspaper or clever recruitment agency/consultancy to attract skilled professionals. That's my thinking.

To be honest, I think you are overvaluing your domains. If you find an end buyer (like AOL who bought autoblog.co.uk) who really wants these domains you may get close to what your looking for, but selling here, at Sedo or Domainlore I would expect these domains to get even close to £12,000 that AutoBlog.co.uk got.

I don't think jobblog is that strong because of the double b. WebmasterBlog is better, but I'd still have quite realistic value expectations and don't let the exception of autoblog get your hopes up.

Re: JobBlog.co.uk

Very fair comments!

I'm suggesting AutoBlog.co.uk sold for that price because an end user bought the domain. It could have sold for a lot less or a lot more, depending on who the buyer is. Suppose the Daily Mail wanted AutoBlog.co.uk or JobBlog.co.uk, I honestly don't think £12k or whatever xx,xxx figure would be a big issue. That's my point!

I don't think you'd get a great deal for them if you had to sell right now. If you're waiting for the right buyer to come along, and they do, then who knows.
