Nominet Just got my Tag!!

Just got my tag and have some questions, is this the place to ask??

Alternatively you could ask Nominet support if there are issues you don't want to discuss on a forum.

Yep I've asked Nominet support a couple of things but just thought I'd get some feedback here too.

I wanted my tag to be more of a business name but they've used my surname and that doesn't sound to commercial so I was going to ask if that can be changed.

Having said that I dont know if I'm going to operate as the main reason I got the tag was because 1and1 messed up over 1000 of my names and the server they were on - couldnt believe it!!

Anyway I wanted to make sure it would never happen again and it seemed to me it was the best way to manage my portfolio.

So if I do operate it wont be in a big way as I want to offload the vast majority of my names to raise funds for an eco project I'm working on.

The second reason was to be able to catch a few select names through the new DAC systems.

I doubt anyone will give you much help with catching other than you simply poll your desired name until it returns as not registered you then bang in a PGP or EPP registration request as quick as possible and hope

You can have multiple tags on the same account (I don't think there is any charge) so keep the surname for personal names and then apply for a second one with the business name. They seem to always use surname as default if you don't specifywhat you want but they allocate whatever you want if not already used.

Done it monaghan - had to actually pass the test to get here - YES?

Hey going back to school isn't such a bad thing but its a pain in the xxx sussing out Q's 15-21.
