Pardon my igorance but who is Karl Marx ? is he the prussion philospher ? if he is, I honestly cannot see anyone wanting to buy this, as what would they do with it ?

I think you could be right, have totally gone off in the wrong direction here, this name clearly has no potential.

Do you think I should be looking more at the modern names market, such as popular music acts, celebrities and actors etc?

Yeh I would go for something like those and then maybe develop some mini sites on them and use them as a feeder site to make some money from. They are not as easy to find though with them being popular.
