Linkstar?

Has anyone else been approached by linkstar .co.uk asking if they can put some text based ads on their minisite.

I've had a few emails lately from various sources asking about buying some advertising space and I must I'm sceptical about these requests.

Does anyone have any advice/comments/stories to offer?

Link star have some links on some of my sites. They seem to pay well for some niches.

I've replied to them and had an email back with an offer for simple text link on one of my sites.

Just waiting for some details of the link and where they want it.

Looks legit so far.

Yes I have received emails on two occasions from this Linkstar. I have not replied to either because I am very suspicious. Despite reading some of the other mail relating to this company, my suspicions are roused because the email was addressed in the title field to both my first and second names. I do not use my second name anywhere at all so am worried at how they got hold of it. Circular

I've got my suspicions too, I've added a text link to one of my sites as requested and I'm just awaiting payment via paypal.

If I don't receive payment by the weekend then I'll simply remove the link.

I can confirm I received payment from Linkstar this morning via paypal as promised.

Seems like a legit company and I wouldn't mind doing a bit more business with them in the future.

If you've had an email requesting a link, I think it's worth hitting the reply button and seeing if you can sort one out.
