Fraud takes place everywhere - be careful!
If it's a user on here with a few hundred posts then you're safe. But if it's a user with fewer posts on here or anywhere, you should be a bit extra careful.

I agree but I feel the Domain Trader rating is a more accurate indicator of buyer/seller legitimacy (especially for the less regular posters among us). But the few hundred posts point you make is very valid and therefore could make us equally suspicious of our new seller...

I have had many offers for this domain, but would prefer to use a proper forum to sell it - so fraud doesn't take place.

liveme.co.uk (correct me if I'm wrong) was registered on January 5th 2009. This would mean that our fraud wary friend has had "many offers for this domain" in the 85 minutes between midnight and the time of his initial post.

That doesn't seem very honest, does it?

Not suggesting any fraud is taking place here - probably a newbie wanting to make his names sound more appealing, trying unsuccessfully hard to create a buzz - but to appear to be completely dishonest at his end whilst saying he's only selling here because he's afraid of dishonest people is what seems to be frustrating me at this early hour.

I am already very annoyed at those who think I am a fraudster. Do you want the email addresses and pay pal addresses of those that have given me offers?

Because I will be able to give you 7. Then maybe you will cease to accuse me.

Or maybe a written letter? Telling you that no I'm not a fraudster, and no I'm not trying to dupe you!

I understand that as I am new seller you are suspicious - but really! In response to my having registered it yesterday, that is because I lost the domain - I forgot to renew it. And yes, I was careless - please don't berate me about that either. Luckily it was not caught by anyone in the short time after it had been cancelled.

Is that enough, or do you want a detailed log of everything I did with the domain?

As you should have seen from my previous post, I didn't say - and for that matter, no one else said - that you are a fraudster. So you have no one to be annoyed with.

I'm sorry if you are frustrated. I wasn't suspicious because you are new. You registered (re-registered) this domain today, not yesterday, and it was exactly because you registered the domain minutes before offering the domain for sale that my suspicions were raised. Look at it from the other side - uk domains take 99 days to 'lose'. And that's after Nominet write and try to contact the registrant on numerous occasions. I'm sure I'm not the only one who would struggle to believe someone to have not 1 but 7 offers for such a domain only to then forget about renewing it for more than three months - and I'm sure others, like me, would be eating their acorns along with their hats if it were true.

But, of course, stranger things have happened. Interest in particular domain names can be hugely surprising and that's what can make domaining so exciting. To clarify, I'm not accusing you of anything more than just wanting to enthusiastically sell your names...and that's the whole point of Acorn Domains.

If you could produce 7 offers, It would only lead me to belive you are a fraudster too!

If there is anyone on acorn who could speak in your defence I would love to know who they are, just so I can keep my beady eye on them too.

This is funny but a bit cruel.

EDIT: Jeeeezo, I think one reason that you are getting teased is not only because of the dodgy information, but also because of your asking price (£700).

This is being kind (not cruel): your domain will never sell for that. Take a look around the forum and see what names are selling and for how much. When I started I didn't know how to value domains, and I still have a names I should never have bought. As many of the people on here have a lot of experience I think that this is a name that most people wouldn't register if it was available.

Also I think many of us say that we have had offers for a name, or stretch some other truth during negotiations, but we aren't end users so that tactic really won't work too well with domainers. Plus it will only work with end users if the domain is valuable.

Not trying to teach you how to sell your name, I just think that this advice will help you a little.
