Interesting to see Giant Games dumping so many lll.co.uk names onto DL, though all very much at the lesser end of things admittedly.

I don't think a few quid here or there is going to be too much of an issue...

Seller is charged a listing fee of 10% of the starting or reserve price (whichever is greater)

GG have never really been a motivated seller, so this is kinda interesting. Given the current selling price on lower end LLLs is low xxx, I do wonder what the reserves are as well as the long term game.

Yes. I don't think a few quid is going to be an issue given who we are talking about here.

With diminishing sales on such a large holding especially lll's, I'd guess the hike in renewal fees is starting to bite. They have also dumped many nnnn's.

If the reserve is £250 thats £25 lost if its not sold. I accept its not a lot of money but several haven't been sold and the ones that have have been very low £xxx. It all counts in the end.

Well if you do the math...
    • 8000 three letter .uk names from 1999 = 18 years spent on them.
    • Which is (18 x 2.50 ) x 8000 = £360,000 spent already.
    • Current renewal 8000 x £3.75 = £30,000 + VAT a year to renew.
    • While selling to end users at 2-3 per week (max 150 a year).
    • Which is 150 x £2000 average sale = £300,000 a year.
However it would take 53 years to sell all 8000 !

So sticking 500 of the worst ones on DomainLore seems a good idea...Even if you spent up to £5000 listing them.

You would save £1875 a year and maybe get £50,000
