What value would you put on these types of domains and
does anyone know of any sales?

Thanks

Si

I just paid £750 for b8.co.uk which I consider a reseller price but with very few sales prices for these types of domains its hard to put an end user figure on them.

Grant

From DomainPrices.co.uk:

Domain Name Sale Price Price in £ Sales Source Date Category Keyword
e5.org.uk £125 £125 Promotion.org.uk August 2006 2 character none
e6.org.uk £125 £125 Promotion.org.uk August 2006 2 character none
e8.org.uk £125 £125 Promotion.org.uk August 2006 2 character none
e9.org.uk £125 £125 Promotion.org.uk August 2006 2 character none
w4.org.uk £125 £125 Promotion.org.uk August 2006 2 character none
h5.org.uk £125 £125 Promotion.org.uk August 2006 2 character none

I was tempted on that one a while back - nice price. More of a collectors piece :p nice domain though.

Someone asked me for similar advice a couple of months ago to which I replied (names altered):

It could be worth hanging on to the names until the market for short names is full developed, as currently the market is there for domainers and ‘techies’ who wish short domain names for the vanity / convenience factors (email or dns servers).

Regarding guide prices I have spoken previously with owners of similar names NL / LN etc and ~£750 does seem to be an achievable reseller rate so would value them accordingly taking that as a low. A1 I would imagine is more desirable than X4 and thus values would have to be adjusted.

...snipped abit...

One further thought would be to secure associated names eg. FourB.co.uk BFour.co.uk to add value and counter any possible phonetic problem.

Good to see B8.co.uk went for bang on predicted sale price ;)

Thanks for all the replies.

So promotion are listing:
NL.org.uk between £100 - £200
LN.org.uk between £150 - £400
and have sold LN.org.uk for £125 - end user sale?

and Grant paid reseller price of:
LN.co.uk for £750

What would be your best pick character combinations from LN and NL?
Do you think the market for these will ever become popular with end users.
I own quite a few and a recent scan confirms there are non available to register in .co.uk and .org.uk

M8 - a good one maybe

out of my batch
9V - 9 volts
8i and 9i - popular database although old versions now

I picked up 50 & 18.org.uk which I thouigh were quite good numbers :p

maybe LL will come into its own one day..

I have:

M8.org.uk - "Mate"
H8.org.uk - "Hate"
L8.org.uk - "Late"
W8.org.uk - "Weight"
and F8.org.uk - "Fate"

Any good? :)

Although they are nice I think youll find the best selling 2 letter .co.uk's and now .org.uk's will be company names.

Hello there,

sorry I'm confused by what you mean. Most good 1 word domains anywhere will be the names of companies.

Well not really. Generic words are the best sellers.

Mate, Hate, Late, Weight, Fate etc would sell well as word generics.

When its a 2 character I would think they would sell best to companies with names such as D3 L2 etc etc

Perfect example is o2.co.uk

The LN.org.uk price isnt fixed because you still get them drop.. t4 did 2 days ago that someone on here got for reg fee and I bought i4 also for reg fee.

Id be happy to sell today for £150 - £400 :D

My gosh... you do talk some twaddle.

M8.org.uk - M8 is the name of many comanies + the name of a camera by the popular Lecia.
H8.org.uk - H8 a make of Hummer and a Hitachi Make
L8.org.uk - L8 is also a prefix of many companies "L8 Shop"?
W8.org.uk - W8, Make of Volkswagon and also a popular company Prefix.
and F8.org.uk - F8 is the name of the new "Facebook Movement".

I can't say fairer than that.

Secondly, O2 is not a great example of anything. It is nothing but a big company name (already established) and the chemical symbol of Oxygen.

M8, H8, L8, W8 and F8 are all slang Internet terms... great for Internet use.

Even weight watchers advertise on google for the term "w8" and other weight loss sites EG. allaboutw8.co.uk. W8.org.uk.. a Weight loss organisation. Great!

Ok well good luck selling them as makes of cars and types of cameras

I noticed in the last few weeks a few LN.me.uk domains sell for 99 pounds each.

What are the current prices for LN and NL .co.uk, .org.uk and .me.uk ?

Thanks

Simon
