Hi all,

I produced my first product affiliate sitelast week and put it online. It's managed to to get over 300 Uniques and earned some money (17% ctr).

The thing is though the main keyword was postioned wad 7th on 1st page on Tuesday now it's on page 11.

Could this be because I removed the first aff feed and uploaded a new aff feed?

I'm bit confused, is this normal?

Also statcounter says I have 30 adsense clicks but haven't been credited?? Is this normal?

Many thanks

Baz

I have found a brand new site will get indexed and initially appear on Google page 1 results, and will then "settle" back down to its natural start position, which could be a few pages back. So, it's normal.

Rgds

hey thanks alot for that, thats seems to explain the SERPs.

Getting really wound up about the adsense clicks now. Still none been credited.

the click seem to be coming from the uk so don't know why.

the site is www.watchesuk.org.uk

can you see anything wrong?

hey thanks admin, I best change it never relised.

I have that running on few sites too, some for over 4 years.

I have a watches site in the same space too - seems you are using an automated feed import? So you will have a short term ranking boost - In my experience about 3-5 weeks - after which the site *could* plummet.

My suggestion would be to:
Get some generic copy by make written.
Get an article spinner that spins variations of each
then adds a different ariation to each autopost

This will potentially help differ your site content to that of say Argos whose feed you are importing.

Start adding some links to yur category pages too - that will help keep them at the right crawl level for the SE bots...

The next piece of advice people may not agree with - get rid of the tags or no index them (Yoast has a great SEO plugin that will let you do that) Tags are spammy repetisions of your archives and in long run can give you duplicate content headaches.

Cheers wb that explains a lot. My last aff site went straight onto page 1 for several keywords but is right down now

Thanks for the advice, I still have no idea why the clicks are not registering with google. Even thought they would show as a invalid clicks but not even that.

I hired some link building services but none showing up yet. I'm going to start doing it manually.

Once again thanks.

The site that I was talking about has now come straight back up to top of page 2 from nowhere. But another site I'd been working to get up to 4th on page 1 has just disappeared

I was optimistic about the site, but the game is the game!!!

So take my advice :) You should have back then - but never too late. Have recovered many before.
