need some help

hello everyone,

i need some advice,

i`d like to set up a small website that could potentionally make money, the problem is im a complete novice as to were to start, im aware it`ll be a long process to make money of domains/websites and was hoping someone could point me in the right direction.

i have a very small ammount of experience in building websites (on my 2nd) no where near the top of google tho, but im self taught so i know theres a whole lot more to learn.

Ive heard about parking domains and affiliates ppc`s is this the best way to make money of your domains/sites or am i missing something?

Do you have to build up the traffic before you become an affiliate buy selling something or just by being an informative site?

has anybody got any examples of sites that make money that i could look at?

thanks for the reply`s yeah have done a couple of websites need a lot more experience tho. i dont know how people can make a living of websites without selling a nesh product as there is lots of competition out there and would like a push in the right direction.

One of the best things to do is open a Google AdWords account, it's free and you can then use their tools to look at EPC rates. This gives you a very good idea of what sectors on the internet will be profitable.

Then learn how to put a basic site together but focus on good detailed content, particularly on the home page.

Then join the various affiliate networks where you will get access to their stats tools, e.g. Affiliate Window, which will give you more info on profitable sectors and their newsletters will give you more ideas. It would be worthwhile to join the various affiliate marketing forums too.

Making a go of it is not easy and depends on your talent, but the potential is there for those with the ability.

thanks again everyone. i`m getting alot more of an idea now. spose the better the domain and site you own the more visitors you will get to your site. and with more traffic theres more chance potential clicks on ads.

I`ve heard about drop catching domain names is this something only certain companys do or is software available for anyone to buy? either way how do i catch the gud names? thanks again everyone
