I quite often look at what people are doing on Acorn under who's online and sometimes see about 2 guests registering but tonight it seems like most are registering at the same time, are we about to get mega spammed or what

To any genuine guests becoming new members then Hi

That's usually bot activity being logged by VB.

 

[AdminAdmin is verified member.]

New members get held in a moderation queue, I vet every single one of them.

When you see a lot active at once it's probably me catching up on approving them so their confirmation emails all go out in batches.

This along with my automated anti-spam tools keeps spam off here a lot, compared to most forums I have seen.
