I agree, I know it will be a hard decision to make since you have been there for so long, but it is time to bail out and look for new pastures.
I used to work for a large UK electricity generating company........ Been there 14 years on the retail side and doing very well.
Then came the takeover. Within 3 months they had brought (what they regarded) key figures in from within the industry but from our competitors. (Dixons, Comet)
What did the new boses do? First off they disbanded the canteen and brought in vending machines (so the "company" now profited from its own employees)
Secondly, they installed a climate of fear. Everyone was looking over their shoulders to see what their work colleagues were doing or saying. "lunch was for whimps and tea breaks were for nancy boys" was the general feeling in the (I was going to put office) but it was in the whole building.
"What are you doing for the company" was the saying we heard, all day every day.
At this stage I bailed out.
It's a real shame as they completely loose focus on their most important asset....... their employees. They think by instilling an atmosphere of fear they get the best out of their workforce.
All the good people left and were replaced by a plethora of pimple faced 17yr olds that pounced on you as soon as you entered a store as they were on shit wages and just as shit bonuses and they needed your sale.
2 years later came the bombshell..... the corporate big wigs at HQ decided that their core focus was generating electricity and they were not interested in retail sell-ons. So at the stroke of an accountants pen, they shut the whole operation down and 2000 people lost their jobs. (including the arseholes they brought in)
........................
The moral of the story is leave now and don't become a statistic.
