Hi

I have a couple of domains that I am looking to sell and I was hoping I could get some advice on how to do this.

Im wondering where a good place is to advertise, and how the transfer of ownership takes place (do i do this myself or does someone else do it?)
I am completely new and I don't really have a clue. Any help or information is much appreciated :)

Transfer of ownership is very easy, and is done through Nominet's site.

Either the buyer or seller can pay this.

It's around £12 to transfer a domain to a new owner.

As far as advertising a domain for sale, then there are a few sites...

Posting a domain on here, is a good a place as any, although nothing beats selling to an 'end user' to get the best price.

thank you, do you know if you can transfer .com domains with nominet?

No, .com domains are not done through Nominet they are done between registrars (e.g. transferred between 123-Reg accounts, or from 123-Reg to a different registrar such as NameCheap etc).

Thank you for all the info so far, is there anything else i need to know before I start selling?

This forum is primarily for .UK domain names. There are other American market places that would suit your .com domain names better. Who did you register the domain names through? They should have transfer page through their web site explaining the process of transferring or pushing your domain name.

I have a .com domain and a .co.uk domain that i would like to sell. Both registered through 3ix.org.

http://www.3ix.org/register_domain_name.php........

What if I want to sell or give my domain name to someone else?
The procedure for changing the legal owner of a domain name varies depending on which suffix (.com, .co.uk, .eu.com) you have.
.COM .ORG .NET
This is the most straight forward suffix to change ownership of a domain for. Simply log on to the Domain Manager, and edit the register owner box. Changes to this field will take about 24 hours to appear in a 'WHOIS' domain name lookup.

I've never found a good place to sell domains outside of this forum, whether they are UK or rest of the world. Flippa and Sedo both drive me mad. If there is another one I would be happy to know it as well.
