Nominet 2fa woes

You change your login settings , Add/remove devices. But obviously you need to login to see that, if you could set it up from outside of the account it would be just as weak as a standalone password.

It's designed to be a second layer of protection, thats why they give you backup codes when you scan the barcode so if you lose or cant get to your phone/device you still have those codes to login with.

I don't remember getting back up codes :/

Where was they shown ?

I've just added a new device at Nominet and turns out they are probably the only service ive known NOT to give backup keys as well lol

It's been covered elsewhere on the forum, but don't forget you can also use Authy on Chrome if you want to have a second parallel way to activate/access 2FA as well as your mobile phone.

(Of course that doesn't help if you can't log in, but it may help in future.)

I was always a fan of Google authenticator until someone here recommended Authy, the ability to have it across desktops, PC's , tablets is amazing. I've got 2 old iphones, desktop and a couple of tablets with it loaded so if my phone does end up breaking or worse ive still got a device......somewhere that has the codes.

Sounds good, just trying to setup authy and cant. I feel thick. Get account verification via: existing device, phone call or sms. None work, they all give the same message 'Multi device is disabled.. to enable open authy on your other device and go to settings > devices. But i get that message on pc an phone so how do you ever start lol....

@Admin, I had that exact same problem trying to get Authy sms sent to my phone, it repeatedly gave the same error you're getting. In the end I entered my other halfs phone number and it went straight through and sent me the sms.

@Admin, it must have been a different problem with me, because my phone had never had Authy on it before, I got to the stage where it asked me to enter my number so it can send me sms, and then I got the error you got.

I don't even have authy on my phone now, it's only on my laptop so no idea why it wouldn't accept my number, but would my Mrs' phone number.
