Oliver Tweedie has been appointed as Chief Technology Officer at Nominet.
In his new role, Oliver will be responsible for developing and implementing Nominet’s technology strategy, ensuring that Nominet’s registry and cyber services remain world class. He will join Nominet on the 14th of November.
Before joining Nominet, Oliver was Executive Director for Technology and Interim CIO for the Bank of England, responsible for all aspects of technology and programme delivery. Prior to the Bank of England, he was a Technology Director at Sky where he built national-scale internet service provider and analytics systems. He was responsible for development of Sky Broadband during its growth phase, including the engineering behind a more family-friendly internet experience.
Commenting on his appointment, Oliver said: “Nominet’s technology is the bedrock of the service it provides, and it is crucial it remains reliable, resilient, and set up for the future. This is an incredible opportunity within an important part of the country’s internet infrastructure. I’m looking forward to getting started.”
