Not sure this is the correct forum for this one, if its not the right place then feel free to move :)

I've seen things like this actually happen a customer would perform a whois then find out their (seemingly random) domain has been registered at next check. Try it yourself!

What are your thoughts on this? I think its *shocking* personally.

I suppose the way to check this is to register 'averysillyname01.com' followed by 'averysillyname02.com' & so on and see the whois-results, some while later.

I try a few - no doubt they all got dopped before the 5 day tasting period ends - check enough of them and they all have increase their deposit with ICANN - but that would take millions of names ! - LOL

Netsol front running

I've just done a netsol search on netsolfrontrunning .com which was available (the .co.uk was showing as registered - but according to Nominet WhoIs, it's not).

I then checked the .com with the OpenSRS WhoIs and it's showing as registered to Network Solutions on their reserveddomain servers.

I'll be interested to see how this is handled - Network Solutionjs response can be seen here:

There are various people on Slashdot etc. running scripts that "check" for "crapdomain00001.com, crapdomain00002.com" etc.. Apparently it stops around 50 or so, but then they run it again with a different name.

NetSol have made a BIG mistake here I think...
