Introduction Number of Domains in your portfolio

[orchardapple]

As it says on the tin, how many domains do you have in your portfolio?

[ribble-valley]

163 and counting (never seems to go down though, only up)

So who ticked over 5000 domains then?

Me. I assume it's "all" domains, not just .co.uk ones... Last time I added all my lists together, I had about 8,500 names.

That's a lot of names! I take it a select few do very well that in turn, carry the rest?

I presume this as I never see you selling, only buying

Can people who have over 4K .co.uk domains tell me this? How many number of domains do you sell in a month and what is the total revenue from those sales?

Is having a bulk number of domains a good strategy?

Thanks
TurNIC

[Divine Grace]

70 domains so far

Turn it around. If you have 5K names and they cost 3.50 each a year then that's 17,500 pounds per year in renewal fees. So you need to find a bit less than 1,500 pounds per month in that scenario to cover costs. That's 1 sale @ 1,500, 3 sales @ 500, 15 sales @ 100 or 30 sales @ 50 pounds for example (out of 5,000 names)

Beyond that, it's down to portfolio quality. Some people will easily sell a number of names @ 1,500+ average each, others will struggle to sell a handful of names @ 100 each...

I've got 4 domains, can't wait until they earn enough money so I can buy a fifth one.

Maybe one day

It's not the number of domains you have that is important, it's the quality of domains you have and what you do with them.

Circa 80 so far.

By the end of the year most will have sites on.

Not keen on going over 100 !

Talking of portfolio sizes, aren't we just entering 'Giant Games Week'?

[inbound]

Around 250 for me, need to count them though.

Oh - make that closer to 500... how did that happen?

Nobody ever is ..... but it just kind of happens.
