Nominet have invited us registrars to a webinar about the pricing review - to include the outcome of their recent pricing review.

not because they need to - but because .co.uk is a cash cow that funds so many other activities.

    As I understand it....

Ben Hill was promoted to CFO (board position) from Director of Finance.

He was then supposed to give the same presentation at the members open day on 4th October but no one registered and they cancelled it:

At the time the Nominet executive were planning to increase the price in November.

However at the board meeting in November they cancelled the price rise after feedback from the elected NEDs:

“Price review – There was an initial discussion in September on Nominet’s pricing review process. Views and feedback were sought from board members, particularly elected NEDs, and the Executive presented their recommendation to the November meeting. The Board agreed that the pricing for .UK domains will remain at current levels. The Board noted the underlying rise in operational expenditure due to inflation. As forecasts expect this to continue, the Board will review pricing again in September 2019 post the end of the Right of Registration period. The Board agreed that we should review prices at the same time every year. The plan is to announce the result of the review in September and the increase (if any) to take effect on 1 January.”

It is also in the members email “Seasons greetings from Nominet” sent 20th December:

“The Board also agreed that the pricing for .UK domains would remain at current levels, with a review to take place annually each September, and that any changes decided upon then would be effective from 1 January the following year.”

So there won’t be a price rise until at least January 2020.
