On Facebook? Quick heads up

If you're on Facebook, go to your timeline and click on "about". Scroll down to see your contact info and you'll notice that there's now a [email protected] email address there even though you probably didn't even know that you have this email address.

It's easy enough to get rid of it, but of you were like me (hid my email address) this would be your only email address showing and its a bit pointless when you never use that email address!

That's been there for months! And any messages sent to it go straight to your FB messages folder - so pretty pointless imo!

Really? Just saw it on gizmodo, thought it was a recent change but obviously not

I've seen people mentioning it more recently, but unless I've had it rolled out early as a test, it's been there for a while.

FB needs to give up on the idea it can replace email with its messaging system.

thankfully it doesnt appear to interfere with their registration or auth api's.
