I think people will continue to use DL as a sales platform no matter how many domains he catches - assuming people still have something to sell! I don't think he should stop doing what he's doing to keep in domainers good books. I would imagine DL makes peanuts compared to his domain sales.

Although he does seem to flip a fair few catches through the platform which must make up a decent chunk of the £1m sales that have occurred. Decent pocket money if nothing else.

Interesting thing about that name is that before it dropped in 2005, I contacted the Registrant asking if they wanted to sell it. They said no. Then it wasn't renewed and became suspended. I contacted them again, said it was now suspended, asked if they were going to renew it - and if not would they sell it to me now. Again they said no! It dropped and Denys got it!

Some of the recent sales on the site show just how effective and lucrative in getting end user prices a decent website for your domains can be by the looks of it. Blownaway recently dropped and has been sold already looking at the just sold section.

In theory, can Nominet slow down a TAG for catching or something else to stop someone catching if they wanted to?

Nominet *could* do anything, the question is why the hell would they ?

Your £5+Vat or My £5+Vat its still £5+Vat, they have no reason to, and most coders in drop catching are watching their times and analysing, so they would notice significant delays in timings.

Punishing a member (or rewarding) for doing nothing against the rules would set a dangerous precedence.
